As you all know, this new game will give us a new experience like never before: full on control swordplay~

Okay, the graphics may not be like Twilight Princess but it's very vibrant and rich in colors, making the game more attractive~

Link will encounter new and old items such as::
*the whip:: good for defeating smaller enemies and grabbing items like Rupees~

*slingshot*

*bow: in order to let go of the arrow, you have to pull back the Nunchuk until they fly

*beetle: connected to Link's arm. Good for reaching hard to reach items~

*bombs: you can either throw or roll them

Skyward Bound

The changes don't stop with the gameplay. The game features a unique story that delves into the origins of the Zelda mythos. The Skyward Sword incarnation of Link is a young man living in a land called Skyloft, a peaceful world that floats among the clouds. One day, however, an incident occurs that changes Link's life forever. After learning the land below the clouds--a dangerous place ruled by evil--Link embarks on a journey that takes him from Skyloft to the lower world and back again.

Nintendo has even shown video footage of Link diving off a cliff and into the clouds, and reps have proclaimed that moment to be very important to the game's story.
As you may recall, when the then--untitled Skyward Sword was announced last year, artwork was shown depicting Link with a sword like female character. Nintendo has revealed that the character is the titular Skyward Sword, and that it becomes the legendary Master Sword during the course of the adventure.

To go along with the new directions in story and gameplay, Skyward Sword features a new impressionistic visual style. As you can tell by looking at the screens, on these pages (in the mag)the game seems to combine the realistic character proportions of Twilight Princess with cartoony cel shading of The Wind Waker. The result is incredibly striking and beautiful in motion; it's what you might imagine Zelda games such as A Link to the Past or Minish Cap would look like if they were polygonally rendered, yet Skyward Sword delivers a distinct look that's not quite like anything else in the series.

Based on what we've played thus far, Skyward Sword appears to deliver the core Zelda experience you'd expect--a fantasy adventure of highest caliber---but with enough changes to the controls, visuals, and story to provide a fresh experience for even the most hardened Zelda veteran. The only downside is that the game won't be out until some unspecified time in 2011, but as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

Q:: After trying the SS demo, what does the location represent?
Eiji: You play from the beginning from where Link start off his journey. The enemies in the demo such as giant skeleton and scorpion are just there for the demo but you meet them elsewhere later on.

Q: Is the demo location a field or dungeon?
A: Field.

Q: How is this game differently structured than the other Zelda games?
A: The field that you played in the demo is actually a dungeon. Though you must wonder that dungeons are placed in small rooms and on the last door you find the big boss.Though for  this game is more outdoor dungeons. Since dungeons are compacted, you need to defeat you enemies in close range.

Q:Is the graphics in between Twilight Princess and Wind Waker?
A: Not choosing one over the other but we did it mainly for the swordplay. We exaggerated the designs to make it more appealing to the viewer. If we made it realistic, then it wouldn't be as appealing. Made it to support good gameplay.

Q: Were any other visual styles considered?
A: To make the gameplay better, we focused on exaggeration toward characters, this was our intention. We want to highlight the characters exaggeration to go with the rest of the scenery. That is why we tried a watercolor style design.

Q: The colors stand out, especially those big mushrooms.
A: Yes that is another reason why we choose this style too, to define objects more easily.

Q: In the demo, we saw eight slots of items, does that mean there will be exactly 8 items in the game?
A: I can't talk about that too much but using motion-plus gives a good feel for item selections.

Q: What is you favorite item to use so far??
A: I like the Beetle item, not only can you get items but you can also use it like a camera, see to make sure if the coast in clear in one area. It's a helpful way to solve puzzles too.

Q: Will there be a new approach in puzzles?
A: Of course! One thing, is that the Master Sword can have the ability to seek out new treasures.

Q::: Will be see Zelda and Ganon in the game?
A:: If there isn't Zelda then there wouldn't be a Legend of Zelda. As for Ganon, I have no comment on that.

Q:; Is this a Zelda continuing time line or separate story???
A: This game takes place before Ocarina of Time.

Q:: Any thoughts of adding voice acting for Link or if not for other characters instead?
A: We don't want Link to talk. If we did, it will break the image of who he is. If Link doesn't talk but if others do, then it's wouldn't match well either. It's part of the series history for no voice acting.

Q:So the game is set in the sky, is Epona going to be Pegasus? <---that would be kool~
A: *laughs* I haven't thought of that.
Link does have to travel from Skyloft to the land below, so of course he needs a way to do so~
I cant reveal too much about this yet.

Q: What is cool in Skyward Sword that others may not notice?
A: I wonder how people play against the Deku Baba plants. You can defeat them by the sword,
horizontally or vertically , you can throw bombs at them or do it the old fashion way of swordplay. I didn't see people do that yet.

Q: Has the tea table been upended during development of this game?
A: Not yet! Miyamoto tried his best to make it for E3 and show it all in the demo. He's not going to go and turn around something that he's helping make! He's not going to be able to flip that over!

  my second thoughts:::

I went out with my buddy, :iconmirchuchu: and she found the NintendoPower mag with SS Link in front cover~ and im like ME WANT! XD so i read it, and found more news i would like to share  with you guys ^0^

Okay so when i first saw the trailer of SS in E3 live, i was a little disappointed with the graphics , I thought it would be darker, and realistic like TP was~

Now after watching the trailer and demo many times, plus reading this magazine, I've been having second thoughts~ I think I'm beginning to understand it and look at the positives~

Haven't you noticed the trailer seems a little slow? (what do you mean by slow?) Well i mean the swordplay or aiming is a bit slow, i believe this is because of course the game give you more reaction time to swing your nunchuk and stuff XDDDD~~ which is a good thing~ wouldn't want to miss a move~ XDD

After reading the interview, i believe they did choose that style to support gameplay. I told this to my friend yesterday, after recalling from 3D class, games need less geometry in order to flow better~ If the game is more realistic, the more glitches it will make or bugs. For example, like Assassin's Creed 1~ The realism of the game is stunning but sometimes there are glitches in the game that look funny 0_o or even worse, freezes your game. It's a good game, Im just saying some games can have their downfalls towards graphics. So yeah, i would understand why Nintendo choose this style- smart choice.

Yeah i know Link is right handed for the first time in zelda history but what can we do, a majority of ppl are righty's :P...hehe jk. but yeah i was a little irritated by that but eh Link is kinda kool i guess ambidextrous hahahaa XDD~~~

OH AND I SOO AGREE WITH THE NO VOICE ACTING FOR ZELDA GAMES~~~ (even if im a little curious XD, well i know his jap. voice, so im satified with that XD)

So yeah, I shouldn't judge on the looks~ I have to play it first.
Zelda games are always good, no matter what style they are in ^_^~~

SOooooo since the setting is before OoT~ wouldn't it mean Link is younger?! DAHHHhhhh timeline is going backwards now hahaha . SO MUCH THINGS I WANT TO KNOW! time will tell.

WELL I CANT WAIT FOR THIS GAME!!!!!! XDDDDD

Why would Link be younger because it is before OoT?
